Taken 8/31/2009 3:27:48 PM
The Grand Teton stands at 13,770 feet (4,197 m) above sea level and is the highest peak in the Teton Range. From its summit one can see over the Gros Ventre Mountain Range to the Wind River Range. The Grand Teton was supposedly first climbed by William Owen, Franklin Spalding, Frank Peterson and John Shive in 1898 via the commonly-guided route, the Owen-Spaulding Route (II, 5.4).
